Planning math

  • Seated dinner at round tables: about 12 sq ft per guest. Banquet tables: about 10. Ceremony rows: about 8. Standing cocktail party: 6 to 8.
  • Save room for a dance floor (about 5 sq ft per dancer, figuring about half your guests), a bar (100 sq ft), a buffet (100 sq ft per 50 guests) or a DJ (100 sq ft).
  • Where tents are joined, the legs where they meet take up a little room.

About the 20 by 20 High Peak tent

  • No center pole. Two steel cables run corner to corner under the top, and a short mast rides where they cross to lift the peak. The middle stays open for tables and dancing.
  • Four legs, one at each corner. Our legs are 8 ft tall.
  • About 16 ft 6 in at the peak. The peak rises about 8 ft 6 in above the top of the legs.
  • Aluminum frame, white vinyl top with a clean peaked look in photos.
  • Tent over a stage? We rent Tent Risers that raise the leg height so performers and the stage fit underneath. See dance floors and stages.
  • Dress it up with leg swag ($8 per leg) and string lights on the cross cables ($25 per cable).

What your yard needs

Clear space
Each corner is tied down with a strap that runs out at an angle to a stake. Plan about 32 by 32 feet of open, level ground for one tent. With Tent Risers the tie-downs reach farther out, so allow more room.
On grass or dirt
We stake the tent with four 42-inch steel stakes, one at each corner. Tell us about sprinkler lines, gas or other buried lines before we arrive.
On concrete, pavers or a patio
We hold the tent down with water barrels instead of stakes.
Overhead lines
The tent can’t go up within 50 feet of overhead power lines.
Access
Our crew needs a clear path from the street for the frame. Tell us about gates, slopes or HOA rules when you book.
Permits
Some cities and HOAs need permits for tents. Check with your city, HOA or venue.

Rain and weather policy

  • We don’t refund cancellations due to rain or bad weather. You can reschedule instead.
  • For safety we follow the tent maker’s wind guidance: guests leave the tent if winds pass 38 mph.
  • If you choose not to reschedule, it’s treated as a same-day cancellation. Labor already done on the original date (install or teardown) may be charged.

Tent rental FAQ

How many people fit in a 20 by 20 tent?

About 32 seated at 60-inch round tables, 36 to 40 at 6-foot banquet tables, about 48 in ceremony rows with an aisle, or about 50 to 66 standing. Save space for a dance floor, bar or buffet.

How much does it cost to rent a tent?

A 20 by 20 High Peak tent is $295 plus $47.50 for installation, or $342.50 installed before tax and delivery. Two tents joined as a 20 by 40 are $590 plus $80 for installation.

How tall is the tent?

The legs are 8 ft tall and the peak is about 16 ft 6 in. There is no center pole, so the middle of the tent stays open.

Do you have bigger tents?

We get bigger coverage by joining 20 by 20 tents: two make a 20 by 40, three make a 20 by 60 and four make a 40 by 40.

Can you put a tent over a stage?

Yes. We rent Tent Risers that raise the leg height so the tent clears the stage and the people on it. Tell us the stage size and height when you ask for a quote.

Can I add lights?

Yes. String lights run along the cross cables for $25 per cable. Each 20 by 20 has two cables that cross corner to corner. Leg swag is $8 per leg.

Can the tent go on concrete or pavers?

Yes. On grass or dirt we stake the tent. On concrete, pavers or a patio we hold it down with water barrels instead of stakes.

What happens if it rains?

We don’t refund cancellations due to rain or bad weather, but you can reschedule. Guests leave the tent if winds pass 38 mph.

How far ahead should I book?

Two weeks minimum. Fall weekends book up first.
